The Administration of Scottish Machine Knitters Association comprises of : Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Events Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Clubs Secretary, Newsletter Editor and a Webmaster. Committee meetings are held regularly throughout the year and are also attended by Area Representatives. Area Representatives liaise with their local members and arrange workshops, lectures and social events.

Scotland is divided into the following areas:

Edinburgh/Lothians/Borders Area
Fife/Stirling Area

The Annual General Meeting is held in May or June. The committee is elected from those members of the Association who have intimated that they are willing to serve. There are no paid officials but committee members are reimbursed for expenses necessarily incurred on behalf of Scottish Machine Knitters.
